Meets Purpose

Shagun Sharma, 10, is Telangana’s youngest open water swimming champion and one of India’s most electrifying young aquatic talents. She began swimming at age 4 and has been competing at district and state level since age 7.

A specialist in both pool and open water disciplines, Shagun has claimed titles across freestyle, butterfly, and marathon sea-swimming events — a rare combination that speaks to her extraordinary versatility and mental toughness.

Already with 20+ medals at just 10 years of age, and having won the prestigious Goa Sea Pride 2026 championship, Shagun is firmly on the radar of SFI selectors and Olympic development programmes.

Goa Sea Pride 2026 — Open Water Champion

Won the prestigious Goa Sea Pride championship, becoming the youngest ever champion in the event’s history.

Telangana State Open Water Championship & National Sub-Junior Meet

Set a new state age-group record in the 1500m open water event (beating the previous mark by 45 seconds) and represented Telangana at the National Sub-Junior Aquatics Meet, reaching the freestyle finals at age 9.

Hyderabad District Triple Gold & South Zone Junior Aquatics

Swept 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle and butterfly at the Hyderabad District Championship — first U-10 swimmer to win triple gold in district history. Also claimed gold in 100m freestyle and bronze in butterfly at South Zone Juniors, earning an SFI commendation.
